I suffered with panic attacks in 2016 and 2017 but have been ok for the last few years. A couple of times in the last few months I have been getting that anxious feeling and have ended up in a & e twice after feeling faint and weird while out shopping. I can feel it all building all back up again.
i saw GP on Friday and was prescribed fluxotine and Diazipam.
I started on 20mg flux in Friday and then decided I would be better starting on 10mg to minimise side effects so had 10mg yesterday and today. I have Diazipam 2mg for emergency use.
Anyway this morning got up feeling fine and then while masking breakfast started feeling nauseous and everything went blurry. I could not see properly at all and took 2mg Diazipam and went to bed. Then I got zig zag lines in my vision but no headache. Fell asleep and have woken feeling anxious and scared to get out of bed.
Never had blurred vision before and it really scared me.
does this all sound like a panic attack?
I have also posted on flux forum as I am wondering if this is a side effect from starting flux.
I would be so grateful for any comments .

Well usually we get the blurred vision thing during an adrenaline surge with or without hyperventilation. It's all part of the fight or flight thing with our pupils dilating. On the zig zag lines - I'd almost swear it's the side effects of the anxiety medication, because I usually get those after taking anxiety meds myself, and when I stop taking them, I don't get them anymore. But it's hard to say, because it could also be a side effect of anxiety or panic attacks.

Thank you. These are new symptoms for me. When I suffered a few years ago it was always chest pain that started it off. Many times I was convinced I was having a heart attack.

Hi Mazza. Do you think it could have been a visual migraine? It sounds a bit like what I get with a visual migraine - blurry vision, zig zags, no headache, and feeling tired afterwards. Just a thought. I hope you're feeling better x

Thank you - that sounds exactly like what it was. Because I suffer from health anxiety I immediately think I am having a stroke!
I have not had them symptoms before but maybe it could be the medication?

It could be the medication, as migraines can be triggered by all sorts of things. Hopefully it's a one-off. Migraines are horrible and I always find them quite scary even though I know what it is. If it was your first migraine I'm not surprised you felt anxious. Take it easy and be kind to yourself xx
