I have the flu. I read about deaths from the flu. So here I am.

I知 a fairly healthy male aside from HBP. I know it usually is a problem for people immunocompromised. But I feel that overtraining at the gym and lack of sleep have dwindled my immune system. Sunday I went to the gym and did a lot more than normal, Sunday night I slept maybe 3-4 hours. Monday I felt so sore which would be expected from that culmination. Monday night I had the absolute worst headache and eventually went to the ER. Diagnosed with Flu B. Didn稚 sleep at all.

So now here I am feeling sore along my back and worrying that my immune system is lowered from all that and worrying if the back pain is my kidneys and if I知 going to have sepsis now.

I really don't think you have anything to worry about to be honest and are overthinking this one.

Oh, man. I understand. I had Flu B all week last week and I spent all my time searching “flu” on this forum desperately reading every post I could find about it to reassure myself. I can look back on it now that I’m (mostly) recovered and see that I was being completely unreasonable. The percentage of people that get the flu, compared to the percentage of people that suffer complications from the flu, are extremely minute. And I know me saying that isn’t going to help much when you’re in the middle of the HA spiral. All I can say is to drink as much liquid as you can and then drink some more lol. Stay in and away from other people until you’re fever free without pain relievers. And try to rest if you can. You’ll come out the other side of this!

The flu makes you miserable.
Rest, sleep, watch some tv, keep your fluids up. You値l be better soon.
