I have had a chest strain or pain for a few days with worrying is this normal with anxiety?

Yes Phil it is.
When we panic we breathe a bit differently, or take big breaths in.

It should calm down once you can start to relax yourself.
If you feel the need to take a deep breath, try swallowing first - I don’t know why but that tends to help me!

Yes, definitely, it can feel quite achey to take a breathe in if you've been very anxious and stressed the day before, muscles held tightly (and chest are no different) can ache like muscles anywhere in your body. Also, as Scass says above, we breathe differently when anxious (either very deeply or very shallowly) and make use of muscles that don't usually get such a work-out.

I have had the same thing since last night some chest stain it’s mild can feel it occasionally during the day on top of the tension headaches? I assume it’s anxiety at play again?

Very likely it's your anxiety, Phil.

If you can tolerate it, take a couple of aspirin before bed: for some reason it acts as a muscle relaxant for me and works well.
