View Full Version : Incredibly lonely in lockdown but have no idea how to find friends

As the title says, I'm feeling so incredibly lonely in lockdown. My current friends only seem to want to talk to me when they need something (usually free therapy). I live with my partner, and he's great, but I miss female friendship.

Thing is, I have no idea how to go about finding new friends or people to talk to (especially in lockdown)! And even if I did find anyone, I'd be way too anxious to actually start a conversation :(

Any tips/advice?

Talk to people - your colleagues or social media connections. Tell them you're lonely, even.

not being rude but spare a thought for people who actually live on their own that's lonely, at least you aren't on your own

not being rude but spare a thought for people who actually live on their own that's lonely, at least you aren't on your ownI totally get what you're saying, and I know how lucky I am! Thing is, loneliness doesn't always work that way. Knowing that others have it worse doesn't fully soothe things. Plus, even though my partner is here, he's still working 9 hours a day so I can't pester him the whole time haha!

l understand you truly l do l just think we are lucky really that's all, and god l know it doesn't help our anxiety just try keep talking to people, watch some box sets we will get through it we are all init together. l hope you don't think l am being rude l am truly not best wishes
