hi molly i have had a bad run of ectopics today also.I had them off and on for over five years,i find they go away for a while the come back with a vengence.A great thing i read which i have started doing is visualising a ice cube in my minds eye melting in great detail, the thoery is you start to concentrate on the ice cube so much to start to forget about the ectopics thus not panicing as much an the ectopics going away. Now yes its hard to do at first but does get easier over time. The thing to remember is we have both had them before and we are still here.I Have seen dozens of docs three specialists and 7 ecg's,all saying its anxiety. But when i get into a panic im certain im gonna die,but if i try to keep a lid on the panic when it starts i find its easier to talk yourself back down and saying things to yourself like"your gonna be fine you had them before and your still here" things like that.Im sure your fine molly just try and take some deep breaths and think of the ice cube. Also how long have you had them for and have you had them checked out,and have you noticed when they tend to come on i.e in times of stress exercise or anytime things like that?

I get my ectopics when I am resting so for me sitting down feeling calm and with a normal heartbeat is the time when the ectopics kick in with a vengeance also as soon as I lay down in bed at night. If I stand up and move around so my heartbeat quickens they go away. This is classic benign ectopics.

40 ecg's all with no events barring anxiety means you are fine.I know its hard to believe as its hard for me too.BUt at some point we have to start and try and trust the doctors with years of experience and modern medicine. My worst ones come on just before i try and go to sleep lyind down and i have to sit up to get them to stop. Our ectopics are classic symptoms of benign ectopics(annoying)nothing more. But no doubt when mine kick off again tonight when i go to bed(which i bet they will) i will be in the same boat as you stressing like mad.Its a good thing we are all here trying to help each other through our bad times.Your going to be fine trust me,and stay strong:yesyes: :yesyes: :yesyes: :yesyes: :yesyes: :yesyes:

Molly its interesting that you say your ectopics get really bad after the stress has eased as I have never thought of that but it makes sense as everytime I get my bad times it is always when I am not overly stressed about something but no doubt I have been in the weeks prior as I am always stressing about some health problem or other:wacko:

I suppose when I am really freaking out about a health issue that speeds my heart up so the ectopics don't happen as often. I have spent years and years trying to find a common denominator from food and drink to hormones but nothing seems to add up.

Molly

I get the same ones as you. I'm having a very bad run of them at the minute. Countrygirl, thanks for your great comments on the other thread i run you're a star. Mine too come when i'm sitting watching tv and when i go to bed. If i get up and clean up, walk move around i sometimes still feel the odd ones but nothing like they come when i'm resting (one after the other for serveral beats in a row and then nearly every few beats of normal heartbeat). I lie there in a panick and then can't sleep, eventually going off to sleep to wake and find they're still there.

I have had ECG's and 24 hour monitor etc all saying yes i have ectopic beats but nothing sinister. The thing is i find when i'm hooked up to things like that i don't seem to get them as badly as i get them when relaxing here at home, bizarre.

I guess we do have to learn to accept we're safe and perfectly healthy (we just to need to make our mind believe that lol)

Take care and all the best

Tracy

Hi there,

Same here....I was just sitting on the pc last night, calm as anything, and the heart went absolutely hyper...then I feel yuk all night but I think Im inwardly panicking and waiting on them happening again. I always tend to find they are worse when I have sat down and I feel relaxed or yep when I lie down in bed.

Sounds like from the replys here that this is definitly a common time for them.

I hope your feeling better Molly.

yep i sympathise with you Molly. Mine have been really bad this last week. As soon as I sit or go to bed they start and don't let up. Only really stop if i go and do housework (who wants to do that lol) or if i just get up and move around. I just want to be able to sit and watch my fav show on tv Supernatural but i get them through that even. It just sucks

Take care
Tracy
