Hiya all,

just a quick message to say that Nic/Nomorepanic has managed to break herself (not Covid related) so will not be on NMP a lot over the coming couple of months while she gets better

I will leave it to Nic to let you know more details as or when she wants to as it isn't my place to say.

I am sure you will send Nic your get well, good wishes message on this thread so she can read them when she does log in

In the mean time, please direct any questions or problems you have to either myself or Elen and we will deal with them as best as we can.

Also please bear with us as will we will be an admin down, so the remaining admins may take a little while to get back to you.

Hiya All...

I spoke to Nic on the phone this afternoon and she asked me to let you know a few things...

She appreciates all of your posts and good wishes and thanks you all for them

She would like you to know she has fallen at home and has a badly broken shoulder and a broken toe..... it is all rather painful at the minute and as a right hander, breaking your right shoulder is a pain in the arse :) She is back at the fracture clinic on Thursday to see if it require surgery or not..... fingers crossed that won't be the case and it will heal without any surgery.

My mum broke hers in a fall years ago and it was painful. It's surprising how quickly you lose strength from it and struggle lifting your arm but once you are better they will have the physio guys giving you exercises for that.

I hope you are finding ways to be comfortable and sleep as best you can. Take it easy. It will stop hurting as much soon and it will be quite a relief!

(I've been in bed for 2 days now with sacroiliac ligament inflammation, lucky to have my own " hot physical therapy guy" ... he sure can cook a great meal :)

A few years back I slipped on icy concrete steps and broke my elbow. As much as I dreaded hearing I needed surgery, the healing and pain were shorter because of it.

I don't think there is anything anyone can do really whisper, but thank you.

Nic update......

Nic will undergo surgery on her broken shoulder on Monday..

Understandably she isn't happy and incredibly nervous about it as she will have a general anaesthetic and also has to go through it alone and have no visitors due to the current circumstances regarding Covid-19

Hopefully she will be a lot more comfortable after the surgery and in less pain.

When she rings or messages me I pass on messages from you all and I know she really appreciates them all and she will reply to you all when she gets back online.... so feel free to keep leaving messages for her :)

I wish her all the very best for Monday and hope that the op will ease her pain and set her off on the road to recovery..Obviously it's such a shame that she is having to go through this alone and in such horrible circumstances but at least the wait for surgery is mercifully short.

I'm actually glad they can surgically fix it. I know, not pleasant and does make her nervous but healing will be faster.

I'm also glad she is receiving swift treatment. It's scary but it's better now than months of pain and waiting lists.

She's been through tough times with her health from what she has said on threads to help others. She will beat this too, I have no doubt.

It's also worth remembering that right now whilst we hear about this virus everywhere it's not necessarily the case. For instance, my GP reassured us we had 2 local hospitals with no current cases. We have alsobern lucky not to have as many diagnosed in this city compared to others. So beware the sneaky what if thoughts and just take it hour by hour on the day and you will soon be back home with your feet up.

I am still waiting to hear Pulisa...

Last I heard everything was running late and poor Nic hadn't even headed to surgery .... but that was about 2.45pm, so hopefully by now everything is over and done with.

Will update more when I know more xx

I had a brief whatsapp chat with Nic earlier, After a long day she got back onto the ward at just after 8pm.

She is understandably a bit sore but she did good and it is all done, now just the recovery, hope it all goes well
