Meditation has always helped me to relax, so much so that I've nearly fallen asleep!
Lay on the bed or sofa, close the doors, play a cd that instructs you and relax!
The cd should have background music with a persons voice telling you to take deep breaths and getting you to concentrate on one area of the body at a time. The cd may also guide through a scene, perhaps laying on a beach or in a field with the sound of the waves or wind etc.
Once you learn the words used, you can remind yourself of them when you feel panicky. Just find a quiet place and meditate for a while.
It also helps to train the mind away from worrying thoughts or feelings so eases the symptoms.
I've also found aromatherapy helps to relax. A good massage with the right oils can make you feel on air!
