Can seeing things that aren't really happening like inanimate objects moving really be caused by anxiety?! The doctor seems to think so but I'm worried it could be something more serious..

Interesting you should say that because when I was very little I used to imagine circular objects such as sliced tomatoes and spools of recording tape/film used on RTR tape machines/cine projectors in 'giant' form rolling along the floor upright, chasing me and attacking me with electric shocks. I also used to fear the thought of other supernatural circular 'creatures' in the form of white glowing concentric circles doing the same thing. I must have been right round the twist on occasions before the age of 5 and surprised I never ended up being sectioned nor sent into care over some of my irrational phobias/beliefs.
