For some reason I have a really high resting heart rate today and its spiking my anxiety. At rest I am somewhere between 115 and 120 bpm. I also feel a little discomfort in my chest but I cant be sure if that is just because I am fixated on my heart or if I am really having chest pain. I went to the gym today and did 30 min of cardio and 20 min of weights and no issues so I can't imagine it is a heart attack. Also I had a complete heart workup a few months ago and nothing bad reported. I just cant get my heart rate down or get rid of this uneasy feeling. Ideas?

How often do you go to the gym? Is it a regular thing?

Have you been ill lately, under any specific stress?

I go to the gym several times per week. No illness lately, but yes lots of stress.

I would imagine that you're exercising too much on top of outside stress.

Exercise can be bad for you as well as being good for you, stressing your central nervous system.

I've had what you're experiencing several times, and it's always based around physical or mental stress, or more accurately a combination of both. No pain, no medical diagnosis, just hours and hours of tachycardia. I've been in hospital with it 4-5 times, and each time nothing was found.

I would strongly suggest NOT going to the gym several times a week, or if you do choose cardio OR weights, not both. It's important to stick with low intensity exercise if your central nervous system is this hopped up right now.
