Scared I Have Oral Cancer

Hello everyone

so the last few days I have noticed a mouth ulcer developing on the floor of my mouth. I don’t think I have ever had one there before. It isn’t large but I didn’t notice some bumps that are kinda reddish. Now this has me concerned that I may have oral cancer.

I am 29 years old. Don’t smoke or chew tobacco. I do consume alcohol moderately. I know it’s supposed to be rare for me to get oral cancer but I am scared that I may the minority that gets it.
I am thinking about calling my dentist tomorrow to see if I could get checked out
But I want to know what you guys think.

I honestly can't remember anybody else here who jumps to as many worst case scenarios based on common and benign conditions as you.

I think you're fine :) Mouth ulcers are very common. Some people get them often, others hardly ever do. But they are common. I get them from time to time. You don't have any risk factors, plus you've only had it for a few days. It takes a while to heal. I'm sure you'll be fine.
