Hello,

I’m 26 and feeling like something is wrong with my hormones. I had bloods taken yesterday and I’m waiting on the results. I have health anxiety so this is making my thoughts spiral.

The hairs on my breasts have started to turn black, keep getting acne, I’ve been getting night sweats on the days leading up to my periods, and my periods are never the same length, this is the last 6 months worth according to my app:

34 days
33 days
33 days
34 days
35 days
31 days

My cycle is also on the longer side!

Can anyone else relate to this? I’m terrified I won’t be able to have children.

Thanks in advance
X

Your periods are regular, which are a great sign.

Your cycles are on the longer side, but not abnormally long. Long cycles are very common in women in their 20s, and thick body hair and acne isn't uncommon either. Everything you've described can be explained by slightly wacky hormones, which might not cause any serious problems.

One other explanation is PCOS, which is perhaps what you're worried about. PCOS is very common, can be managed, and the vast majority of women with PCOS can have children.

It does not cause premature ovarian failure.

It honestly doesn't sound like anything very worrying is going on to me 🙂 I'm sure your doctor will advise further once your results are in.

My daughter is 35 and has PCOS, endometriosis and one compromised Fallopian tube and still became pregnant without fertility treatment. She's 37 weeks now and we're all getting very excited about the birth :)
