Hi everyone. I have been taking citalopram for 10 years now, starting dosage 20mg. I had to switch to a different medication due to my getting blood pressure after being on them for 6 years, at the time I didn’t know the spiral was about start!.
I just couldn’t function as good on any other medication prescribed, so asked the doctor if there was any way to return to citalopram.
I have been suffering with anxiety and depression since I was 16years old, trying lots of different medications along the way. I had never heard of citalopram before I was prescribed it 20mg citalopram, I functioned for 6 years with no problem. I am 70 years old now, going back on them, I have gradually had the dosage increased, I’m now taking 40mg Is there a problem with stopping and restarting them? I’m now taking 40mg, and still suffer with on and off with anxiety.
