View Full Version : What is real MS weakness mean?
What does real clinical weakness mean vs perceived weakness? I am scared I might have MS.
Like for a long time now my right arm and leg have “felt” tired and weak, but when I go to test them by lifting weights or running I can do everything normally. I am definitely over concentrating on them and always feel the need to test my ability to use them. But is this true weakness or just in my head/ perceived weakness.
You just explained it in your own post. You "felt" tired and weak but have no issue exercising. Perception vs. reality. It really is as simple as that, no ifs, ands or yeah buts.
Positive thoughts
I'm guessing it isnt a problem when you are concentrating on something else? That will be your clue. Also you are lifting weights fine so you are not physically weakened. I'd say your mind is playing tricks on you.
Thank you.

Positive thoughts
Just because something is in your head, it doesn't make it any less real to the sufferer. I just means the treatment is different. I would say councilling would be a good place to start. There are some good sticky threads on the health anxiety forum as well. Fishmanpa also puts a link in his signature that is worth a look.
