Congestion on one side of my nose

Hey all. So, I've been having a bit of nose trouble for awhile now. I'm starting to notice that my right nostril has been way more congested than my left. Even when I lie on my side, it doesn't seem like the congestion shifts at all. I always figured that any sinus issues would affect both nostrils, so now I'm starting to worry a bit that this is some sort of tumor on the right side blocking my nose. Any sort of advice or similar stories to ease the worry would be appreciated so much!

I have had this for over 20 years, and yes one of your nasal passages may be smaller than the other. I have 2 small bones on the inside of my nasal cavities at the back, I could have them removed at some stage. It's a common phenomenon, the ENT surgeon knew immediately what it was from an ultrasound.

It was discovered when the ENT was trying to put a small tube down the back of my nose to have a look at my stomach and it couldn't be inserted down either nostril. She had the ultrasound there the guide it and saw the bones!

Thank you both, that does help ease my worry some. I just hate that I can clear the dang thing and within the hour, it can be all stuffy again. It's very annoying.

It is annoying, I get it too, the likelihood is that you always have too but have assigned weight to it and therefore are noticing it more. I would consider it nothing more than an annoyance though.

I have this. I've probably had it for many years, but I only focussed on it when I had health anxiety. Specialist looked up my snozzer and said there was nothing wrong except some narrowing in one nostril, and maybe that's to do with the fact that somebody broke my nose? I do have allergies though - one being to my husband who snores incessantly, and I am able to clear a congested nostril by massaging in-between my eyebrows. At certain times of year my nose is always stuffy. It's annoying.

Hello everyone I’m new here. So just in short about 4 weeks ago my ear blocked and has been since, with this I got cold/flu symptoms runny nose, blocked which turned into pain around the right eye, top jaw and teeth. I was initially prescribed antibiotics for my blocked ear which did nothing and my symptoms progressed. I was getting nose bleeds and was given Naseptin. The congestion after a week got bad and I was given a steroid nasal spray this didn’t help much and neither did the antihistamine. Finally I was given Doxycycline and that helped with the face pain and I started feeling better within myself but still very congested after a week of finishing antibiotics. The congestion is so bad at night both nostrils block I can’t sleep, I wake up tried and I’m tired during the day. I’m feeling depressed and so anxious I feel like this is going to stay and I’m never going to recover. Is there anyone else going through this that has got better. As I feel I can’t cope with it anymore it’s nearly 4 weeks now. Docs giving me another antibiotics. I’ve never had sinus issues in my life. 😞

I have been through this on and off a number of times and each time it did eventually get better, I remember once it did last for about 2 months though. It's very frustrating and exhausting, particularly because it interferes with your sleep and then everything seems worse. Seemed to eventually get better after taking Mometasone nasal spray for about 3 weeks, and using those sinus cleansers that you squirt up your nose to wash it all out. Not pleasant but seems to help.
