Hello everyone

So Chadwick Boseman’s death has me concerned about colon cancer. I know younger people have been getting it in recent years but his death was shock to me.

I suspect I have IBS because I have odd BM’s that is usually triggered by coffee or some other food. I don’t consume artificial sweetener because it destroys my stomach. Also some days I will have bad gas then some days I have trapped wind. No blood in the stool though

I has my annual physical a couple weeks ago and all of my tests were normal. My blood cell count and liver enzymes were all good. My last several physicals have been normal.

Now I know I have likely don’t have it but this always lingers in the back of my mind.

should I ask my doctor about this or just leave it to be.

I am 29 and probably too young for a colonoscopy without having any major symptoms.

If it were me, I’d leave it alone. You’ve had your physicals and blood tests which were normal. I think we all have the odd bowel movements from time to time based on what we eat or how much anxiety were carrying at the time. I don’t think that’s enough to justify a colonoscopy at age 29, in my opinion.

A colonoscopy is an invasive procedure not without risks..I'd leave this well alone too because you have no red flag symptoms at all and every test has come back normal.
