Last night I noticed a thing that I've had on my shoulder for years seemed more pronounced the usual. Foolishly I squeezed it, so it's redder than it usually is (typically it's closer to the color of my skin). I'm worried it's skin cancer? I've read that amelanotic melanoma lacks the pigment usually found in other melanomas (they're described as pinkish-looking, reddish, purple, normal skin color or essentially clear and colorless) which has me worried that this could be that? Or a basal cell carcinoma?
I spent a lot of time in the sun when I was a teenager and am worried the chickens have come home to roost. Not sure if this is anything to be worried about? Again, it's redder than normal because of the irritation. Usually the color is closer to the rest of the skin around it. Am I irrationally freaking out?
