For the past week I've been suffering from what I think is a tension headache. A tight feeling in my forehead, behind my nose and in my neck and jaw. The feeling travels around. Yesterday was a good day and I didn't notice it much. Today it's much worse, and I notice it a lot. When I keep myself occupied, it's not/barely there.

What scares me is that a couple of weeks ago I had an eye test for new prescription glasses. I went together with my husband who also needed new glasses. He is over 40 so they checked his eye pressure with an air puff test. His was fine. The optician decided to test me as well (I'm 38) and mine was borderline high. Between 21-24. When I went to pick up my new glasses they tested again and the values were the same. Now I have to go back for a third time and if the value remains high, I need a referral for a specialist to check for glaucoma. I think it runs in our family. I'm so scared to go back to the optician.

Of course I am thinking the worst, now that I've got the headache as well.
My stress levels have been high this past month, as things between me and my sister in law are not going well. She's giving me a hard time, and I don't see things improving soon.
My stomach also is upset in the morning, which I also contribute to stress.

Am I overthinking here or does it scream tumour to you? My husband is laid back about it, he doesn't seem to connect the high eye pressure and headache. Perhaps I shouldn't, too?

Do you think the anxiety of what the opticians have said has maybe triggered a headache? Also the more you worry about the headache the longer it will most probably last as the same thing happens with me. It's easy for me to say to try not to worry as I panic about everything and can't even bring myself to book an eye test for this reason but I'm sure you will be fine. Glaucoma (if you even have it) is common and a brain tumour isn't. Hope that you get on okay. Please keep us updated.

Just a quick update. The head pressure went away after two weeks, but has returned again. I think I went about 1.5 weeks without the head pressure inbetween. It is barely there when I'm occupied, walking outside etc.

Today I went back to the optician. Three air puff tests revealed higher eye pressure each time. They have an optometrist there, too, who performed a measurement with another (more accurate) device. Eye pressure was at a normal level now. This eases my mind a bit.

Good to hear your update. And It’s the weather for headaches / migraines apparently. I got an email from an online pharmacy to say that. Someting about the change of the seasons and atmospheric pressure triggering them in people who are prone (or just stressed) Makes sense because I’ve had repetitive tension headaches lately and so have quite a few others on the board.
