Granuloma or skin cancer.

Hi guys. Wow so a busy couple of weeks. On the tip of my right index finger I noticed a small black/purple spot that grew rapidly over a week. It now looks like a small skin tag sticking out of my finger. It bleeds very easily and scabs quickly due to the blood drying.

Spoke to A+E who looked at it and said granuloma. They said to be urgently referred to dermatology. GP was fine with referring me. They also looked at photos and said granuloma. Just had a call from docs saying that dermatology want to see me within 2 weeks as it they think it could be a type of skin cancer. My mind is running 100mph with worry. Has anyone had a granuloma? It doesn't hurt unless poked and bleeds a lot if caught.

This is just as likely to be what they initially suspected it is. I've had dodgy looking moles looked at within weeks of seeing my GP and there was nothing wrong, so try to reign in the fear. Dermatology are just making sure.
