Hi all
So my asthma and anxiety started around the same time 10 years ago and breathing issues have been a problem ever since. I had a chest x ray in jan as I was coughing up a lot of mucus etc and it showed some slight scarring at the bottom of my lungs so I had to have another one last week and I had my x ray results back today from my test last week because the one I had in jan showed some slight scarring and atelectasis. Basically the bottom of my lungs drop a bit and produce more mucus or something. Apparently it’s common after a bad chest infection. But anyway it’s not got any worse in the last 10 months so that’s good. I have an appointment with a specialist next week to go through things with me I think.

Now I stopped smoking 2 weeks ago and I’m trying to loose weight as I’m around 50-60 pounds overweight. My peak flow and my oxygen levels are ok as I can test these at home but I still feel like it’s harder to breath. It’s hard to explain, almost like I’m in a dusty room and the air is just thick and dusty if that makes sense. But now my anxiety is kicking in and I’m worried I’m just going to randomly stop breathing or something. I can’t take my mind away from my breathing
Anyone on here had these issues??
Thanks

Scass

I don’t know what it is, but keep a peak flow diary. Does the feeling get better after you’ve taken your blue reliever inhaler or stay the same?
If your peak flow is normal and five then it’s likely to be anxiety, especially if you’re thinking about your breathing all the time.
