Hey guys,

Have had this checked out many times by optician and no issues ever discovered, but it does always worry me when I get them.

I notice this slight disturbance in my vision. When I blink it becomes apparent it's a bright white light. It can get quite big. If I was looking at a computer screen i'd say it was the size of a bottle top. It's always a weird shape, like a tear in my vision. It gets bigger, bigger, bigger and then slowly gets smaller and smaller and is completely gone within a few minutes.

Never known what this is? Doctor said could be occular migraine but I never get zigzags or headaches, it is just this light. Has happened for years and wondering if anybody else experiences it?

Have had OCT test at opticians, no retina issue, etc. Have had it for many years.

:)

Sounds like a visual (or ocular) migraine. I get them a few times a year and last about 15 minutes each time. I also never have headaches with it. It's just a huge annoyance.

Yeah I thought it might be ocular migraine. I do not get the classic wavy lines, and it is never accompanied by a headache and never lasts more than a few minutes.

A very bizarre symptom that can be quite alarming but most doctors and optometrists don't seem familiar with it.
