Been an awful December and January for me. From an infection in my gum which I also thought had given me sepsis, I’m still feeling dizzy. I decided to stop drinking from January 4th I did hit it hard that week for 3 days spaced out. Since then I’ve had brain zaps, like a sleep jerk but not when I’m falling just as I’m at that point when I’m about to sleep. I’m getting them through the day now to. I also self harm to by punching myself in the head. I’m panicking that I’ve permanently damaged myself and this is permanent. I’ve not touched alcohol for three days and they’re worse today than ever. Anybody had anything similar or know of a way to get rid of them? Would really appreciate this.

Brain Zaps are incredibly common especially in anxiety sufferers. There’s no magic cure for stopping them, but for me, once I realized they were normal and harmless, I just didn’t let myself panic over them anymore.

The self harm is much more concerning than the brain zaps. Are you in any type of therapy for that?
