Hi everyone,

I was cooking a casserole and it called for one egg to mix in with my mushroom soup. I only left it in the oven for 25-30 minutes at 350 because my broccoli and everything was boiled before, so I just waited for the cheese to melt and totally forgot about the egg.

Do you think it could cause me to get sick with salmonella??? I’m so nervous. I started eating about half my plate and remembered about the egg and automatically stopped eating. So scared in about to get sick. :(

Salmonella from raw eggs is so rare. I ate so many when I was a kid in cookie and cake mixes and I never had any issues. Plus it was cooked for 30 minutes at 350 so I wouldn't worry about it.

An egg cooked in an oven at 350* for 25-30 minutes... Really?

Surely it would be well cooked?

Don't quite understand, what was in the oven for 35-40 mins? The casserole or the mushroom soup? And what was the cheese on top?!

Anyway, can't see any harm. I grew up licking raw sponge mixture of the spoons and whisks that my gran used to make cakes, never ill once!

I always think of bodybuilders (or Gaston from Beauty & the Beast!) who eat raw eggs intentionally.

They are all fine. Well, Gaston did die...but not from that.
