Sublingual fold swelling underneath tongue... Really worried

For the past month, I thought I noticed a slight swelling under my tongue on the bottom of my mouth (I believe it's the sublingual fold, according to Google). I didn't think much of it, but yesterday I woke up and found the swelling has increased. There's no actual mass or lump, just a generalized painless swelling of the area.
I've read about salivary stones, but I don't feel anything hard in the area. Has anyone experienced anything like this before? Of course I am worried that it's cancer ☹️
