Hi guys,

This site is a godsend only a new sufferer 7 weeks!! Short to some of you I guess. i am having every Anxiety sympton on this planet, deep down I know this but can't seem to rationalize it??
I have this weird pulsating in mr ear when I turn quickly, bend down and when I lay down is this a classic Anxiety sympton? had various tests ECG, Chest xray, bloods all clear - doc is right fed up with me moaned how may times I had been in in the last 6 weeks!! Is it wrong to seek the reassurance we all need? Docs answer is that he has given me Citalopram, at the minute making me feel worse, very blurred vision! Gotta ride it out me thinks, didnt want to resort to medication but hubby is so frustrated with me dont think i have a choice..............

HI there

I had an awful time on Citalopram. It may not suit you. I was on it for 1 week, and I started waking in the middle of the night, in a panic, and hot sweat, heart racing. I had a panic attack one day, with a pounding heart. Dr told me to stop taking it (50mg), for a week. I left it a while, and then was put on Sertraline. I had a liquid form, and she said I could start the dose as low as I liked. I was on 1/2 teaspoon for 4 weeks, then 1 teaspoon for 4 weeks. I am now due to start on the 50mg tablets (same dose as 1 teaspoon). I think I may have got used to it by now. She said the dose is very low, so it will take me longer to feel better.

Let me know how you are feeling!

I suffer with my ears badly and I was refered to an ENT specialist, I went private in the end as the waiting list on the NHS was months. He gave me reassurance at the time but im still suffering now so contemplating going back.

My dr is the same, im sure he can't stand the sight of me, lol! the receptionists are the same but with myself and 3 children we are regulars there;-)

Have you tried a self help book or counselling? your dr should be trying to help you with your anxiety not making you feel bad for going. Ther eis a good book that ive read called 'stop worrying about your health' by George D. Zgourides , its a very helpful book, try getting it from your library, it might help you. If you are not happy about your ears then maybe ask to be refered to an ENT dr or go private?

Good luck!
