blood in saliva

For the past few days i have been waking up with a small amount of blood in my mouth. After spitting it out and rinsing my mouth, generally there will be no more blood throughout the day. I noticed its worse when my mouth is dry or when I continually spit in a panic some blood sometimes starts to appear. My gums don't seem to bleed when i brush my teeth but i am overdue for a hygienist appointment and am prone to tartar buildup and resulting gum inflammation. I've booked an appointment with the dentist on Monday but was wondering If anyone had experienced this symptom? I did a google search but that only started worrying me even more!

You could try adding Yogurt to your diet - it could help. Good luck with your appointment.

How over due are you for your dental cleaning?

I was almost 2 years overdue. Had the dentist this morning and it turned out my gums were bleeding near my back teeth where my toothbrush was missing. Had scaling done so hopefully that should resolve the problem!
