The traumatic events may stay with you but so do all the good times you had together and the love you had for each other. A part of her will always be with you :hugs:

Well, this was a bit unexpected, but all rather lovely - thank you all.

Today wasn't too bad; I had a big wobble at work the other day (someone asked how I was and noticed I didn't look so happy, so I explained that it was within a few minutes of the time that Mrs. PM said her last words to me - and I fell to pieces on recounting that).

A trip to the cemetery to check all was okay and to look at the flowers her mother put on her, and for me to put a wicker doggy on that I planted up with a polyanthus. At least she has a doggy now. I spent an hour there, even though the cold wind cuts through you up there. Then I visited her mother, and came home.

Tonight, I ordered her favourite pizza and ate it; it being a Saturday, it's what she would have had on a Saturday night in a different time.

And now I shall retire for the night, comforted in the knowledge that there are people out there who understand and care about what one soul on the Internet is going through at this moment.

Goodnight, all.

PM, I'm sorry I missed this thread. You're a good man, and while you were undoubtedly lucky to have your lovely wife, she was lucky to have you. Those precious memories can never be taken away from you. :hugs:

Thanks again, all.

There are times when I do wonder if, in another set of circumstances, if she'd not met me she'd still be alive and perhaps a darned sight happier.

I suspect I'd have remained single to this day and would have ended up still living in my mother's house.

We can all come up with "alternative circumstances".

The fact is that you DID meet her and she was your soulmate. What happened to her was a tragedy and life is so unfair.

You didn't remain single and you had a very happy marriage which was cruelly cut short which must make bereavement even more painful no matter how many years have passed:hugs:
