Hi-

I have had major swallowing problems for weeks and don't know why. It feels like food is getting stuck in throat and my swallow is weak / leaving residue. I have seen an ENT / GI who both said i have acid reflux after scoping my throat -- but that doesn't explain my symptoms to me. Why would acid reflux impact my ability to initiate a swallow? Liquid is mostly fine but solids are challenging. They gave me omeprazole which is doing nothing to help.

I have talked to two neurologists who were uninterested -- one did an emg on my legs (for some reason) and said i was fine. I have had twitches for years so immediatley thought of ALS and can't get it out of my mind. What should i do?

Doesn't sound anything like ALS to me

Could just be good old globus hystericus

You have had the tests so they know what to look for.

How long have you taken Omeprazole for?

Thank you -- started on omeprazole on 3/17. Its so weird to lose the ability to swallow -- not sure what to do

I assume you suffer with anxiety? It is very common.

You will find loads of posts about it on here so do a search so you can see you are not alone.
