Imodium/Loperimide max dose for over 2 weeks?

has anyone else been told to do this, my dr recommended 8 per day and im 2 weeks in and getting worked up as i know it can cause heart problems, gonna see if dr can call me tomorrow as it is to stop my chronic diahorrea which causes me to have low calcium, magnesium, potassium and folic acid

thanks i know what the recommended dose is and after speaking to my dr she is gradually reducing the dose as hasnt made much difference
