Hi guys,

I知 having a colonoscopy tomorrow morning and have literally just started the perp. Feeling very apprehensive. Have read through the posts on here that have been a massive comforter to me.

Just wondering if anyone else is going through this at the moment? How are you holding up if you are?

Have you had one before P?

Prep's the worst part and that's only because it tastes a bit funky and then the world falls out of ya @rse at about 9pm and doesn't stop until about midnight.. :yesyes:

My tip is to cool some loo roll in the fridge and stock up on some light-hearted reading on Kindle.

Oh, and some Vaseline...:scared15:

Good luck for tomorrow and remember to wear your paper pants the right way round. Don't do what I did and wear them back to front so as you're flashing your foof at everyone.

If you're having a sedative, enjoy the ride lovely. :dribble:

No, Iv not had one before! Had the sigmoidoscopy one before but didn稚 have to take the Moviprep for that.

Iv finished the first litre (started at 4pm, should have been 5 but read a tip to start earlier) so next batch will be ready for 7pm. So far okay... getting quite watery now 😂

I知 more apprehensive about tomorrow (the procedure AND what they might find). I will be sedated but heard so many conflicting stories over the sedative that I have no idea how much discomfort I will be in?!

Haha the pants is most definitely something that I would do! ! Thanks for telling me haha.

Did they find anything during your procedure?

Not going through it now- but have done (twice!). The prep isn’t great but it’s not toooo awful, so long as you are near a loo! Good luck x

Did they find anything during your procedure?

I was 100% convinced they'd find cancer. I'd planned my own funeral and everything! They found nothing except a pile...

If you have sedation (and I recommend it) you won't know anything about it. You'll feel drunk, but nice drunk - not BLEUGH drunk. And it will only feel like seconds before they're telling you they're all done!

Do come back and let us know how you go on today. X

I知 there now. Just had my vitals done and the nurse was really surprised with how high my heart rate was. This has been a past anxiety for me so it set me off in floods of tears. She said that she would get the nurse to keep an eye on it whilst I知 having my procedure done.

Sat in a communal waiting room now with a handful of other patients who have all witnessed my tears 😳

I知 starting to feel extremely nervous...

Will definitely let you know how I get on.

Thank you so much for getting back to me xx

Good luck

When I had a sigmoidoscopy in 2012 or 2013 I remember the prep not being very nice, i live with my parents so they made sure I had both preps. plenty of loo rolls

My heart rate is always high at the doc. What I consider high, anyway. I always tell them I have pretty bad anxiety and they don’t say anything else about it, so they must not be too worried. I think it’s pretty common for anxiety sufferers to have increased heart rates at the doctors. How did your procedure go?
