Panic attacks and chest pain without hyperventilating

Hey guys, wonder if anyone can give me some reassurance. I've been having on and off shooting chest pain on my left hand side for weeks now alongside a pounding heart, but my heart rate is normal and I do not hyperventilate. Is this still concodered a panic attack or do I have a heart problem?

It could be any number of things and it could be anxiety. I don't hyperventilate when I have a panic attack or feel anxious.

I would contact your GP, explain what's happening and take it from there.

i agree with Catkins, We have to have a telephone conversation about our concerns at the GPs at the moment, but in most cases they will see you if you feel as you say. Try that tomorrow, and hope you will be ok

i used to have something similar and had ecgs from 2001, most recent april this year and was assured my heart was fine, hth
