Hi all
Been feeling itchy down there and feel some extra skin tags. So I went to a GI specialist that removed my hemorrhoid before. She gave me a rectal exam and diagnosed me with a possible pelvic disfunction. She said my muscles not relaxed. She referred me to pelvic floor therapy.
After I got home, this past week I noticed that my tailbone area is achy when I sit driving for more than 15min. I emailed the GI specialist if her rectal exam included tailbone exam. Her nurse replied yes, the rectal exam included tailbone area and told me again to schedule pelvic floor therapy.
So my question is if anything serious in the tailbone area, she would have spotted it in the rectal exam right? She didn’t ask me to come back for tailbone exam on my follow up email.
I don’t know if I need to double confirm with my primary care doc or just go ahead with pelvic floor therapy? My mind is racing to all the scariest what could possible go wrong with tailbone area?
I had a colonoscopy last year already too.
Seem like lately obtaining one doctor opinion/exam isn’t even enough for me. I automatically want a 2nd opinion. This is costly thinking and giving me more anxiety.
