Hi there. About 5 or 6 weeks ago I noticed a very tiny bump on my chest above my breasts though. Its a pinkish colour and hasn't grown or anything in that time. It doesn't bother me, its not painful or itchy or anything. I'm just worried it could be skin cancer? Or some kind of other cancer? Anyone had anything like this before? Any reassurance would be appreciated. Please reply. Love Louise. Xxxx

Probably a spot.

We can't keep reassuring your Louise - you need to work through these things

Are you getting help for your HA yet?

Hi there. Not getting any help for my anxiety at the mo. My HA hasn't been to bad in recent years but lately not been so good. Now I have this bump I'm completely freaking out. Its been there 5 or 6 weeks now. I don't think its a spot as spots don't last that long and it doesn't have a head. I think the bump might be under the skin? I'm so scared, I'm sat here crying over it. If I pull the skin round it it kind of flattens and times feels like it gone down a bit. Any ideas what it might be? Could it be completely harmless? Just seems strange. Please reply. Love Louise. Xxxx

Could be a boil or a cyst - we have no way of knowing but what is important is how you react to it and getting completely overwhelmed over something that is probably harmless.

You do need to start treating the HA so you don't overreact:

I know. How do you stay rational? That post was for the same one, it didn't go away. At the start it was more red and I initially thought it was just a spot but now its still there and it seems more pink in colour. Crazy how we over analyse things.

Same one - thread merge job ? ;)

I tell you what I have, and I don't know if its the same thing as you are referring to, but I have a few very similar 'bumps' like you refer to. Infact one is on my right arm I can see as I'm typing. My GP looked at them a few years ago, in passing as I went in for something entirely different. She told me that they were long-lasting responses to insect bites. Sometimes, in some people, the body over responds and produces scar tissue (Dermatofibroma). My bumps were red (about 5mm across and very domed), but have gradually gone skin-coloured and have remained exactly the same for a decade. Lumps, bumps, blemishes and unexplained 'things' happen to the human body all the time. I know that the HA mind goes straight to the most unlikely and dangerous illness, but re-training yourself to look at the most simple, likely and non-sinister is the way to go. Has anybody looked at this lump for you ? A small raised pink lump isn't BC.

I've got to say from experience, 5 or 6 weeks is not enough time for some kinds of pimples to go away, especially ones that are not on your face.
