Hi everyone,

I know this is silly but I have chronic allergies that are bothering me on a daily basis. My doctor told me to take Reactine at night but I’m anxious to take it as I haven’t taken an allergy pill in over a decade.

I read about hallucinations and/or high blood pressure happening and it has scared me to take it. :(

This pill I have is extra strength but it’s only 10mg of medication.

I’m not familiar with that one. I take Zyrtec daily and have no issues with high blood pressure and definitely no hallucinations. But it definitely does help with my allergies!!

That’s great it’s helping your allergies!!
I ended up taking half a pill today (5mg) and I feel perfectly fine. Decided I would start this way and then hopefully end up taking the entire pill soon. But I think I feel it helping a bit already!

Honestly I really do think you’ll be fine. 10mg is such a small dose and these daily allergy pills work so well. If you find this one doesn’t work for you, try one of the other many ones on the market.

Also this is coming from someone that is seriously anti-med of any kind lol. I really struggle to take anything I haven’t taken before, so I do understand where you’re coming from. I’ve had absolutely no side effects from Zyrtec.

Reactine contains cetirizine which is also the active ingredient in Zyrtec. The dose may be different but otherwise the same.
