Weird. My nausea goes away when...

For the past few weeks i've been having a lot of nausea (never throwing up). I often wake up with nausea too. I've noticed that when i drink Cola the nausea goes away or it reduces a lot. I don't know wether this is placebo or because it's a fizzy drink? But it really settles my stomach for some reason. Does anyone know what this means??

I had a stomach bug two weeks ago and my digestive system is struggling to return to normal. So, I’ve had a lot of nausea too. I’ve been drinking Mountain Dew. It helps. I don’t know why it helps, but it does.

I’m 61 years old. When I was little, before anti nausea meds, my mom always gave me Sprite. I did the same for my kids. I don’t especially like Sprite. Thus, I switched to Mt. Dew.

I remember as a child, my parents would give me flat (non fizzy) coke for for a dodgy tummy/bug. The NHS has debunked that but I do recall that was a go to back in the day.
