Hi everyone,

I’ve been having trouble with some health anxiety after experiencing horrible back pain for the last two months. It’s feels like it’s in my back and sometimes it spreads to my chest. It’s like a gnawing ache that just won’t go away, regardless of what pain reliever I take. I’ve been to the doctor several times and it seems like I’ve just been ignored. One doctor told me to follow up with my GI (I have acid reflux and they thought it could have been that), but the GI told me it wasn’t anything Gastro related and told me to follow up with my primary doctor, then my primary doctor just tossed it up to muscular skeletal pain and didn’t run any tests. I’ve been in the hospital twice because the pain is just unbearable and scary and no one can find anything. The ER gave me a chest X-ray, ekg, and blood work and couldn’t find anything heart related. I’m so scared that there’s something going on that they’re missing. My brain keeps going to an aortic aneurysm or aortic dissection and it seems like no one is listening. I’m terrified

This is the 3rd (https://www.nomorepanic.co.uk/showthread.php?247659-Heartburn-and-Back-Pain) thread (https://www.nomorepanic.co.uk/showthread.php?247767-Horrible-Back-Pain) you've started on this, have seen doctors, been to hospitals and last physical therapy was suggested. How's that going?

I have been to my primary’s office 3 times within the last two months and have seen other doctors within his office. I also tried to go through my GI, but he was booked until July so the only way I could contact his office was via our patient portal. It didn’t help anyway because they basically said I was on good medicine for my reflux and sent me back to my primary’s office. I’ve also been to 3 separate ER’s during this time as well, which didn’t help either. I’ve scheduled a appointment with physical therapy too, but it’s tricky with my work schedule. The pain is still just as bad as it was before, I’m having trouble sleeping, sitting, and I’ve missed a lot of work because of it. I’m scared and I don’t know what else to do, nothing seems to help which is so alarming to me. I’ve also contemplated going back to the ER, but I’ve already gone 3 times and copays are expensive

I actually have been through this a while back. I had pretty significant lower back pain that just went on and on. Even sitting was torture. After going to ortho specialist I did do PT and it changed my life. Totally made a difference. I did end up getting a CT with contrast and found out I had a herniated disc. Same symptoms as you. The only thing that really helps that is PT
