Hi there,

My last couple of blood tests have showed a high white blood cell count, which is anything over 11. I have a reading of 13.2, my blood test in November showed 13.5 so it is lowering. But my doctor said she would like me to see a specialist about it. She told me not to worry, because sometimes anxiety can cause it and I’ve definitely been anxious for many years.

But I worry about it being something serious. Has anyone seen a specialist about these things? I am so scared… :(

Anxiety and stress can cause this but there are a lot of other causes too..

Medications (corticosteroids example: allergies, some antibiotics, beta-blockers etc)
Smoking
Being overweight
Exercising too much

Allergies..

Hi everyone,
I know this is silly but I have chronic allergies that are bothering me on a daily basis. My doctor told me to take Reactine at night but I’m anxious to take it as I haven’t taken an allergy pill in over a decade.

Allergies and steroid medication - there's two causes right there..

My money is on this being a combo of a few things; stress, allergies etc

Also, it's lowering - so it can't be that serious an issue or it would keep climbing..
