View Full Version : Colonoscopy on Monday

I’m a 36 year old female. I am in a downward spiral. I recently posted about how I just have been going from one thing to the next (melanoma (had moles biopsied), cervical/vaginal cancer (went to doctor for bumps I found), brain cancer (feel off balance and feel like head falling sensation, hand feels numb , etc haven’t actually had any scans done for that), and now back to my worry of anal/colon cancer). I felt a bump inside my butt that is new I think. I’ve felt in there before and never felt it - even a few days ago (I haven’t done that in awhile before this spiral but my anxiety is out of control, so I felt in there). I have a softer longerish type Hemorrhoid. Then on “top side” or whatever, I felt a smaller bump that is less squishy and more firm. I of course freaked out and couldn’t wait to see normal doctor so went to urgent care. The Physicians assistant I saw scared me even more. Just seemed concerned and urged me to see hemmorrhoid type doctor and get colonoscopy because I’ve had issues with bleeding/constipation for years (had colposcopy like 10 years ago). She said she couldn’t say for sure bumps (especially harder) one was a hemorrhoid but did say she wasn’t overly concerned once I asked. Anyway, my normal family doctor also does a lot of scoping, including coloscopies and he had cancellation and was able to get me in Monday. I spent all morning calling places. I haven’t really eaten in weeks. I’ve been miserable and just drowning in anxiety. My body is sore and I have heart palpitations and I’m just so out of control. Anyone with similar experience?

Hi

This is just a courtesy reply to let you know that your post was moved from its original place to a sub-forum that is more relevant to your issue.

This is nothing personal - it just enables us to keep posts about the same problems in the relevant forums so other members with any experience with the issues can find them more easily.

Did you have the bleeding issue when you had the colonoscopy ten years ago?

Re the cancellation, that's good, right? Less waiting time!

Yes, I’ve had bleeding issues since then. Colonoscopy at the time did not show anything. Also had three kids since then, so I’m sure that didn’t help things down there. Anyway, I’m just trying not to freak out. I want so badly to just be happy. To be a good mom but I’m struggling.

Logic says that you had this ten years ago and it was nothing so why should it be different now?

Heaving out 8 & 10 pound babies gave me haemorrhoids and carrying the buggers (babies, not haemorrhoids) gave me varicose veins..:scared15: It's all part of the joy of being a woman! (and is why I'm coming back as a bloke) :yesyes:

Colonoscopy will be fine. Remember to wear the colonoscopy pants on the right way (I didn't) (awks)

I hope so. I just worry about those bumps and sometimes after I go, it feels like I might have more in there and other weirdness like that. Plus yes, the ongoing blood now and again.
I also hope a family doctor trained in scoping is as good as actual gi specialist. My husband sees this doctor too and we have for years and like him. I just worry, of course.

That's my norm, and I have IBS and haemorrhoids. Plus, I've had a fissure, which meant blood in my poo and on the loo roll.

A bum can is a bum cam. It can see everything there's to see in your colon. Nothing can hide from that colon cleanse!

Plus, you might find that this cleanse re-sets the bowel and you have fewer issues? How's that for a thought?! :shades:
