I’m a 30 year old male, and I noticed a soft lump in my groin 5 days ago that isn’t always present and always disappears when I lay down. I decided to see a doctor and he tentatively diagnosed me with an inguinal hernia, but referred me to a general surgeon so I can be diagnosed with 100% certainty. The problem is that I have to wait just over 2 weeks to see the general surgeon. If I actually have something more serious going on, like testicular cancer or something else, I feel like I could be losing valuable time by waiting a few weeks. I’d just like to get an ultrasound done and get rid of the uncertainty. That being said, I have a family history of hernias and weightlifting is one of my hobbies, so I feel like having a hernia isn’t exactly unrealistic.
