Hi everyone, just wonered if anyone knows anything about this subject ?
I know we touched on this subject in the past but after not eating sugar for a week , I ate some sugar the other day and then felt terrible and had palpatations. I am going to give it a go again.....
http://www.mts.net/~baumel/hypoglycemia.html

today I ate wholemeal bread with butter for breakfast (is wholemeal ok?).
mid morning snack , 4 brazil nuts.
lunch : homeade tomato & lentil soup.
tonight dinner: sheppards pie (is white potato ok ?).

I know it says refined carbs should be avoided , but I have trouble identifying them  , i think its all white foods but not sure about potatos ?

:flowers:

Hello Mirry,
I just did a search on refined carbs and this is what I found.
Hope this helps.

Complex Carbs:

Legumes, such as lentils, peas and beans.
Vegetables, such as beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, corn, lettuce, peppers, potatoes.
Grains, nuts and seeds, including whole-grain bread, pasta, cereal and flour.

Refined Carbs:
Most unsweetened, but refined (non-whole-grain) cereal, bread, granola, pasta, general baked goods.

Simple Carbs:
Candy, honey, pop, donuts, sweetened cereal, cakes, sweet fruit, fruit juice, white sugar, brown sugar,
corn syrup, maple syrup, molasses, sucrose, glucose, fructose, dextrose, and other "...ose" variations.

Mirry,

You may find it beneficial to get a GI diet book. Rick Gallop does a good one.

Wholemeal bread is fine.

I gave up simple sugars for 3 months when I was acute and then reintroduced them slowly and did great, but I was really sensitive to them when acutely anxious.

I wonder whether these links still work :
