View Full Version : Relapse or bad night?

Night before last, I didn't sleep so well. Not that unusual.

Last night, I barely slept. Felt a gnawing anxiety in the early hours. I did a muscle stretch exercise, which seemed to get rid of that. But got very little sleep.

Today I feel zoned out and edgy.

For context, I currently take 100mg Sertraline. I changed from Citalopram just under a year ago, when those stopped working for me.

Thoughts welcome- is it possible that the Sertraline are no longer working? Or just a bad night?

Thanks in advance

It could well be just a bad patch. Stick to a good bed time routine, do things that help you relax during the day, avoid caffeine/stimulates and try not to worry too much - I know that's not easy. The best thing for me to do when I'm struggling with sleep is to read, it focuses my mind on something and helps relax me.

Thanks, Catkins.

The anxiety stayed, unfortunately.

I've spoken to the GP (a new one, much better than the last one), and she's upped the meds to 150mg. Hopefully that will stabilise in a couple of weeks.

Whether it's a relapse or not really depends how you react to what is at the moment, just one bad night.

So the sleep came back, and the anxiety fell away, once I started taking the higher dose of meds.

Now two weeks, in, and it's been great! Sleeping well, low or very low levels of anxiety. Feeling nearly normal.

Yesterday was a bad day, though. Anxiety built and I slept badly.

Feel tired and edgy today, just a bad day though. Onward!
