Teeth hurt

Hi there, I'm getting very anxious as when I eat I get some pain in my teeth on one side, it'd only when eating or I bite down not there all the time and not really painful just a slight sensation when I eat on one side. I haven't been to the dentist in about 8 years as I get so nervous about going to the dentist. I'm now really freaking out and terrified what might be wrong. Anyone had this before? Any advice? Yes I have it and you do need to see a dentist to check it out. I can't eat on one side of my mouth and have already been to the dentist 3 times about it as I keep getting gum infections and they are saying they may have to take the tooth out.
