View Full Version : How trustworthy are dermatoscopes? Mole on my arm is getting a little blurry

I went to the dermatologist a few weeks ago and mentioned that a mole on my arm looks not-as-round as it used to. The edges are becoming blurry and the mole is a little bit more raised, although I'm not sure if it has always been like that. He looked at it with the dermatoscope and said it looks benign. I still keep obsessing over it, though. Should I just let it go?

Dermatologists look at skin conditions (including cancer) all day long.

They do it for a living.

A qualified dermatologist has looked at your mole with dermoscopy. They’ve told you it’s benign.

Trust them - it IS benign.
