Hello all,

I’ve been a little congested so I used my sinus rinse bottle tonight. It’s been a while since I’ve used it so I filled my sinus rinse bottle with distilled water, microwaved it until it started boiling and then pour it back out into my sink. Afterward, I refilled it with distilled water and warmed it up slightly and used it like usual. As I was taking the bottle apart, I saw a little goopy reddish stuff on the straw. It looked like an old bloody booger or something. I didn’t have any bloody mucus using it tonight so I don’t think it was from tonight. Admittedly, I don’t remember cleaning it the last time I used it a couple months ago.

I ended up buying a new sinus rinse bottle and doing another rinse. Should I worry about the stuff in the old bottle at all? Is it dangerous?

I’m probably overthinking it but I appreciate all the help in advance.
