I have suffered with health anxiety for years now but since last year...

1. Got covid.
2. Sore tongue, half of lining peeled. Moved around a bit. Horse voice.
3. Feeling tongue swollen. Definite pulled muscle feeling on left side sort of where angle of jaw is.
4. Talking painful at times. Dentist said geographic tongue. Annoying but harmless.
5. Had bloods done as part of it. Cholesterol 8.9... Put on 20mg statins.
6. Daily checking of tongue. Speech often a bit mushy as tongue sore.
7. Finally month or two ago it died down but I'm convinced tongue has atrophied. Yes I googled it like a fool. I'm now dying.
8. Twitches in calves and thighs plus some cramps in calves after getting off arse and exercising quite strenuously.
9. Stopped workouts and statins and twitches plus cramps died down.
10. Tongue feels sort of rubbery. Tight at rear left.
11. Muscle twitches but I've had them years I think. Worse with stress.

Sex drive is on floor, no interest in anything nice really. Work is stressful and I'm a bit lost heading towards 50.

I'm a bloody mess. Tried counselling and it was an expensive waste of money.

Any advice? I'm pretty sure I don't have a degenerative neuro disease but I'm also terrified that I do.

The OCD aspects in your post are evident and that is a very common theme with HA. Best advice is to seek real life professional help and find someone that works for you.
