Codeine

My doctor prescribed me 30mg of coeine 4 times a day which I took for three weeks to control my sciatica pain. Having stopped I am now suffering what I presume are withdrawal symptoms - diarrhoea,upset stomach,loss of appetite. Can anyone tell me whether this is normal after taking this drug for such a short time. Any advice much appreciated.

I'm pretty sure this is normal, yes, that's why when you buy co-codamol they recommend only taking it for three days.

Yep quite common for codeine, especially if you were taking every day for three weeks. Your body is adjusting to not having it. Codeine also tends to slow things down in your digestive system, so it's going to feel a bit wobbly for a while as it gets back to normal.
