Hi everyone, I’ve always had terrible dental anxiety and recently went to the dentist after 3 years. I have been struggling with TMJ and had a panoramic X-ray, have been on a soft diet and have a mouth guard that I use all night and part of the day. I had a thorough cleaning and they identified a cavity that needed filling. The dentist said we should wait 2 months to fill it because with my TMJ issues, I couldn’t open my mouth wide and was in a lot of pain. My appointment is coming up on Thursday and I’m feeling really anxious about it - has anyone else waited to get a filling and it been ok? Google seems to imply that you should always get them filled ASAP. I don’t want it to be worse.

If your dentist advised you to do it, I would listen to their expertise and experience. Much better than what Google has to say.

Good luck with it, it will be over before you know it. What you are going through now is anticipatory anxiety, much worse than the actual thing you’re anxious about.
