My inspirational song is Love me by Mica. I like the idea of everyone is going to love today and it fills me with hope for the day completely trashy poppy, almost throw back to the 80s but that is what I like about it.

Am trying to find the courage to listen to sunscreen by Baz Luhrman (sp?), which is very inspirational and I used to but I think I would find it a bit upsetting at the moment.

There are so many to choose from but I'd have to go with 'Jump' by Kriss Kross. This is a particularly moving piece of music lovingly performed by the songs authors, Mac Daddy and Daddy Mac. It has particular sentimental value to me because it reminds me of the time I was in Morrisons looking for some toffifees and I couldnt find any. At this point I felt hard done too because they had been recomended to me by a friend and I felt I was letting them down, or that they would think I was being aloof by not purchasing them. I left the supermarket and then something happened that changed my outlook of the entire situation.

I whistled to the cab and when it came near
the license placesaid fresh and had a dice in the mirror
if anything I could say that this cab was rare
but i thought 'forget it yo home to bel air
I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8
and I yelled to the cabbie 'yo homie smell yalater
looked at my kingdom and i was finally there
to settle my throne as the prince of bel-air

There are so many songs that inspire me! One I was thinking of before is "Strong" by Leanne Rimes.

"The light of my life's been stolen, I've walked in every shade of black, and I never thought I would get me back. It's funny how life can change you, and make you who you are today, I wonder if God set it up that way, for me to be... Strong, even when it hurts, the heat is gonna burn, gotta let it go, Strong, Strong, to make a big mistake and never run away...There's nothing like this feeling, to be free and unafraid, who ever thought I could be this brave? Learning every day...I wanna push away the boundaries, I wanna love outside the lines, I wanna stare at the sun, be ok if I go blind, whatever comes, whatever breaks, I'll stand up straight..."

Another inspirational song from the 80's again is "Open your Heart" by The Human League
just quote a few lines
"Being an island ,shying from trying
Seems the easy way, such an easy way
But there's no future without tears"

"so you stand here with the years ahead
Potentially calling
With open heart or with the spirit dead
You walk on"

"If you can stand the test
Your worse is better
Than their best"

I have ton's, but the most meaningful song's to me are the two song's I seemed to continously listen to when I was very ill and was sectioned on a ward two year's ago.for three months. I thought I'd never see the light ever again. But I was VERY wrong :) .

1st one; 'Imagine' - Eva Cassidy's version, I used to sing this all the time whilst crying and crying. I couldn't understand the world.

2nd; Crazy - Gnarls Barkley. This song came out whilst in stay at hospital and so this mean's alot to me especially as the lyrics say it all really. :D As I started to become stronger, this song actually helped me. I had completely lost myself at one point/my mind, I could relate to everything he was saying.

My inspirational song changes depending on what band I am into!

At the moment I am into a German band called De Vision whose music is in the same style as Depeche Mode.

They have a song called "The Far Side" and the lines I like the best are:-

Dont go calling for yesterday, the past is dead and gone
Dont go calling for yesterday, the best is yet to come

Gives me hope and motivation to move on and not dwell too much on things that have happened.

This song always makes me smile :)

Invincible - Muse

Follow through
Make your dreams come true
Don't give up the fight
You will be alright
'Cause there's no one like you in the universe

Don't be afraid
What your mind conceives
You should make a stand
Stand up for what you believe
And tonight
We can truly say
Together we're invincible

During the struggle
They will pull us down
But please, please
Let's use this chance
To turn things around
And tonight
We can truly say
Together we're invincible

Ok, this is difficult for me, seeing as music is my life lol, so I'll limit myself to 3 songs:

1) Famous Last Words by My Chemical Romance

I happened to hear this song when I was at my lowest ever, and I know it may sound cliche, but this song really did save my life and I don't think I'd be here if it wasn't for the awesome lyrics! They really do sound as if they come from the heart, and just listening to this song, makes me want to keep on going.

"I get weak...I am not afraid to keep on living, I am not afraid to walk this world alone..."

2) Wonder by Megan McCauley

Something that I listen to when I'm down, it's just a really good song with expressive lyrics and full of truth. It also reminds me of someone I love very much :)

"...When Breathing's A Burden We All Have To Bare And Trust Is Something We're Taught Not To Share...You Help Heal The Pain..."

And unfortunately, the last song I'm going to mention...

3) The Best Is Yet To Come by Aoife Ni Fhearraigh

A beautiful song sung in Irish. The translation is beautiful. The lyrics are wonderful. This song is something I feel really inspires me to do my best, it always brings a tear to my eye - everytime. A really truely great song.

Well, I'll shut up now x_x Check these tunes out on YouTube or something! You might find them helpful, just like I did, in many other ways...

Love and hugs,

Wolfie xx

Lots of songs inspire me including classical, opera, pop (the older ones like me!) and musicals but one I was playing today was Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel.

When you're weary, feeling small,
When tears are in your eyes,
I will dry them all,
I'm on your side,
When times get rough,
And friends just can't be found,
Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down,

When you're down and out,
When you're on the street,
When evening falls so hard,
I will comfort you,
I'll take your part,
When darkness comes and pain is all around,
Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down,

Sail on silver girl,
Sail along by,
Your time has come to shine,
All your dreams are on their way,
See how they shine,
If you need a friend,
I'm sailing right behind,
like a bridge over troubled water I will ease your mind.

We all get tired of anxiety and feel small, we all get depressed and stressed out, we all need comfort from a friend who understands, we all need a bridge to support us and we all live in hope that things will get better....and all these things include me.

Richie

Hi Bill
didn't know all the words to the song but of course have heard it many times, just shows that most of us me most definately included lol ! just really do not LISTEN properly
Just seeing those words written down made me cry but that was a good thing.
Thanks Bill for sharing those words xxx
I'll print them out, its good to carry inspirational sayings, proverbs, etc around, someone i knew put up these huge posters of positive verses on their walls, probably won't go that far though eh lol
Noticed your note at the bottom, you seem so strong always for others,
but you too feel depressed and anxious and need to take care of yourself xx
as well, and let out your own cries for help if you ever need too xxx
LOTS of BIG hugs to you BILL xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I wouldn't really say inspirational but Colin Hay-Over kill
Some of the lyrics i can relate to anxiety

"I can't get to sleep
I think about the implications
Of diving in too deep
And possibly the complications

Especially at night
I worry over situations
I know I'll be alright
Perhaps it's just imagination

Day after day it reappears
Night after night my heartbeat shows the fear"

It's a lovley song actually =]
