Face cleanser in eye

Is it dangerous to get facial wash in eye? I got some in my eye yesterday and it hurt like heck. I splashed my eye with water until the pain went but the feeling of slightly sticky lids/irritated eye persists. My eye is not red though... I am just scared of this making me lose my sight. I really don't want to go blind

How would they be allowed to sell a facial product that caused bad injuries?
