So for the past several weeks I started having pressure in the anal area, sometimes burning in the same area. It is almost as if something is stuck inside, in the anal area. My BMs are more or less normal, but I do strain often, although it is not that I am constipated. For example, this morning the actual stool look " normal". But the feeling of pressure, or something there, is almost constant now. I do not have any visible bleeding, and the stool color is more-less "normal", sometimes little lighter , sometimes little darker, but nothing that would really have me worried. It is this feeling of something in the anus.

My last rectal exam by rectal specialist was in 2018, when my internal hemmorhoids were treated. I have had them for many years, but they usually do not act up. I also have some external ones, that I can see, but as of yesterday, that area looks unchanged. I have an appointment the day after tomorrow, and I am dreading it.

I had my full colonoscopy 17 years ago ( completely normal), and Cologuard DNA blood cancer test 4 and a half years ago, also negative. I had in March my annual gyno exam and I presume she would have noticed something amiss.

Still, I am very anxious, scared, and dreading the exam on Thursday. Any good , comforting thought is more than welcome. Thank you .

I had the exact same thing a number of years ago. I went to the doctors a number of times and they couldn’t feel anything so I was even more concerned as I was hoping it was piles. I ended up being referred because of my anxiety over it and the fact this sensation has lasted quite a number of months. I had an endoscopy and it came back absolutely fine. Not long after the feeling had disappeared completely so I could only put it down to my mind creating it. I’m sure you’ll be absolutely fine but please update us after your scan.

Update: I was seen by a colo-rectal surgeon. She examined me with finger ( digital exam), and then with anoscope ( light and small camera). She said that everything looks normal, that I still have some internal hemms, but they do not look inflamed at all. She confirmed small external hemms as well, and said that there is nothing else going on. Recommended a cream, saying that burning is actually from irritated skin, and not the hemms. I still feel weird down there but I know I have to trust her. So, that is it, I guess. Why am I not super happy?

Because the dragon is hungry and you're not feeding him :winks:

So glad everything is okay although I knew it would be! You still have worries as you suffer from health anxiety and it can be relentless. I still had the same sensation for maybe a few weeks afterwards but then it disappeared. It’s weird though as I felt it again today for a few seconds but I just tried to push it to the back of my head.
