Heart worries

Iv been taking care of myself lately and have been going in long walks as of late, today was about 85 degrees out (i live in the us) and well I was going up hill I felt my heart rate spike and hit around 169. Is this normal? When the ground flatten out it went down to the 140s till i got home.
